The GOSUD server provides access to the real time and delayed mode data through a Web selection tool or by FTP. The project ensures the long term archive of the datasets.
GOSUD general objectives
The GOSUD data server manages the data collected from the observing network contributing to the project. The main functions are to:
- maintain a centralized web-ftp data portal,
- ensure a safe archive documented with all agreed metadata,
- interface with other World Data Centers,
- provide monitoring of the state of the data system.
GOSUD data flow
Real time mode:
Data are transmitted in real time to GOSUD, most of the time they are reduced using a median filter. The GOSUD GDAC applies an automatic quality control as defined in
before integrating the data in the database.GOSUD prepares Real Time (monthly) and Near Real time (annual) files, and put them on the FTP. The data can be downloaded from the GOSUD server either using the Web selection tool, of using the FTP site.Delayed mode:
The network performing a delayed mode processing transmit datasets on an annual basis. The delayed mode files, with full metadata on instrument calibration, DM-QC and adjusted variables are made available through GOSUD as 'DM-Network' files. They are later used to update the GOSUD database.
